This weeks feature is on the stellar drops from First Drop Wines, located in various growing regions from the wine making powerhouse of Adelaide. Matt ‘Gantos’ Gant and John ‘JR’ Retsas are the masterminds behind the First Drop project who source the grapes for their wines from a variety of Adelaide wine making regions; Barossa, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale just to name a few.

At Black Sheep, we stock 2 of the lads wines in the Mothers Milk Shiraz and the Mothers Ruin Cabernet Sauvignon. The Mothers Milk is not your standard Barossa Valley shiraz as it has a much more soft more mellow texture on the palate and leaves you wanting another sip straight away.

The Mothers Ruin Cabernet follows along a similar path. The fruit is picked earlier than usual which leads it to being a more well rounded and balanced red wine. Both oddballs of their respective styles, but drinkable as anything in the process.

Both wines are now back in stock at Black Sheep Bottle Shop Stafford and look forward to being taken home off the shelf.
